Download SmartPacker U3
The current package is U3 v260525d. It is a ZIP file: unzip it and run SmartPackerU3.exe, no installer required. The app runs on Windows 64-bit, reads and writes local data files, and is valid through December 30, 2026.
What U3 Helps Answer
SmartPacker U3 builds container loading plans for cartons and palletized unit loads. It computes a plan from cargo and container dimensions, then lets you edit it interactively when the actual loading job needs adjustment.
Use U3 when the shipment contains multiple cargo types and the units must stay upright. It also covers weight-capacity checks, fill-rate reporting, and Excel export for sharing or printing.
Data Setup
The package includes sample master data in data/u3/masterdata.xlsx. The cargos sheet stores cargo specifications, and the containers sheet stores loading-space specifications.
The trial package ships with common container types and sample cargo parameters, including standard and non-standard pallet dimensions. If those defaults do not match your situation, edit masterdata.xlsx in Microsoft Excel, or edit cargo and container specifications from the user interface with a 3D preview.
Load by Algorithm
Start with the quantity panel. Move the mouse over a quantity box and roll the mouse wheel to increase or decrease a cargo quantity. The loading plan updates as quantities change.
Green indicators mean the current cargo quantity can still be increased. Red indicators mean the software cannot find a feasible way to add more of that cargo under the current plan and constraints. The summary on the right shows cubic fill rate, loaded weight, and weight fill rate.
Manual Editing
The 2D view supports interactive editing when you need to adjust a generated plan or verify one built by other means. Select a pile to delete, move, rotate, or relocate it. Green move and rotation buttons indicate feasible moves; orange buttons remain available for cases where a move would conflict and you plan to clean up the result later.
You can also clear quantities and start a new pile from a container corner, edit the units inside a selected pile, copy a pile, or place units across the level top of adjacent piles when their heights match.
Customize the Case
Container data can be customized by container type, weight limit, and co-load settings when part of the container is already occupied. Co-load settings describe the length already taken, any usable recess in the occupied space, the side position, and the remaining weight capacity.
Cargo and container parameters can be edited in masterdata.xlsx or directly in the software. Blue fields are editable; gray fields are locked. Mouse-wheel editing is convenient but easy to trigger by accident, so turn off edit mode once you finish.

Other Editions
Use U3 for mixed upright cargo. Switch editions when the loading constraint is simpler or rotation is allowed.
Multi-SKU, Rotation Allowed
For mixed cartons that are free to rotate through any of six orientations.
