When weight stops you before space does

Tick shipment-load to describe the cargo already on board: the length taken from the front, a usable dent in it, and the weight already loaded; the plan then fills what is left.

What U3 Helps Answer
SmartPacker U3 builds container loading plans for pallets, unit loads, and cartons that must stay upright. It computes a plan from the cargo and container dimensions, then lets you edit it by hand when the real loading job needs a change.
Use U3 when a shipment mixes several cargo types on standard or non-standard pallets. It also checks weight capacity, reports fill rates, and exports the plan to Excel for sharing or printing.
U3 is the right starting point when mixed upright cargo has to be reviewed and adjusted by hand before dispatch.
Data Setup
The package includes sample master data in data/u3/masterdata.xlsx. The cargos sheet stores cargo specifications, and the containers sheet stores loading-space specifications.
The trial package ships with common container types and sample cargo parameters, including standard and non-standard pallet dimensions. If those defaults do not match your situation, edit masterdata.xlsx in Microsoft Excel, or edit cargo and container specifications from the user interface with a 3D preview.
Load Automatically
Start with the quantity panel. Move the mouse over a quantity box and roll the mouse wheel to increase or decrease a cargo quantity. The loading plan updates as quantities change.
Green indicators mean the current cargo quantity can still be increased. Red indicators mean the software cannot find a feasible way to add more of that cargo under the current plan and constraints. The summary on the right shows cubic fill rate, loaded weight, and weight fill rate.
Manual Editing
The 2D view supports editing by hand when you need to adjust a computed plan or check one built another way. Select a stack to move, rotate, or delete it. Green move and rotation buttons mark feasible moves; orange buttons stay available when a move would conflict and you plan to clean up the result afterwards.
You can also clear the quantities and build a stack by hand from a container corner, edit the units inside a selected stack, copy a stack, or place a unit across the level top of two adjacent stacks of equal height.
Container, Weight Limit, and Co-load
Container data can be customized by container type, weight limit, and co-load settings when part of the container is already occupied. Co-load settings describe the length already taken, any usable recess in the occupied space, the side position, and the remaining weight capacity.
Cargo and container parameters can be edited in masterdata.xlsx or directly in the software. Blue fields are editable; gray fields are locked. Mouse-wheel editing is convenient but easy to trigger by accident, so turn off edit mode once you finish.
